Privacy

Your settings, your presets and progressions, your set lists, your practice log and any sounds of your own that you add are saved on your iPhone or iPad, inside the app. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.

The tuner uses the microphone, and only the tuner, only while its page is open and listening. What it hears is measured on your device, there and then, to find the pitch of the note you play. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. You can turn the microphone off for the app at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone; everything except the tuner works without it.

The full version is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account; we are told only whether the purchase has been made, so the app can unlock, and nothing about who you are.

When you share a preset or a progression, what you share (the bars, the tempo, the sound, the drone's key and chords, and the name you gave it) is written into the link itself, after the #. Browsers never send that part of a link to a server, so if someone opens it in a browser, songling.app receives only an ordinary request for the page, not what was shared and nothing about you. Anyone you give a link to can pass it on, so share it as you would the music itself.

Like any website, songling.app is hosted by a company that keeps the usual short-lived server logs of page requests (the address a request came from and the browser it was made with). We use them only to keep the site running, never to identify anyone.

Nothing of ours. All its sounds and pages are built in; it works fully without an internet connection. The only outside service it uses is Apple's own, for the purchase.

The app is suitable for everyone and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
